Type Locality and Naming

The type section is located on the eastern side of the Jiangyema area about 100 km to the southeast of the Zhada County, Tibet. It was named by Guo Tieying and Liang Dingyi in 1982.


Lithology and Thickness

Limestone. Composed of grey-white and light-pink bioclastic limestones, with a thickness of about 50 m.

Lower contact

Disconformable contact with the underlying Xilanta Fm

Upper contact

Conformable contact with the overlying strata of Lanchenquxia Fm (now Lanchengqu Gr in the Triassic Lexicon usage) of early Triassic

Regional extent

Distributed in the area of Zhada County, Tibet.
